Established in 1989, The Animal House is one of a number of truly independent shops in Brighton. It has an original and comprehensive collection of animal themed gifts.

The Animal House has been part of the North Laine’s transformation from a sleepy shopping area into the vibrant cultural quarter of the city.

The new state of the art central library is 2 minutes away, as is the Dome theatre complex and the Royal Pavilion. The North Laine abounds with interesting bars and restaurants and quirky shops.

The active traders’ association works hard to ensure that the area remains a unique shopping and recreational experience.

	The extensive collection of soft toys is carefully selected for quality and hug-ability – even our warthog, sabre toothed tiger and skunk! The baby safe selection includes activity, musical and cuddly toys. Other toys range from hand and finger puppets, stretchy snakes, face masks to dinosaur excavation kits and all kinds in between. Much like the fashion industry we make seasonal changes in our merchandise. Expect baskets of rabbits at Easter, webs of spiders at Halloween and huddles of penguins at Christmas. We are constantly updating our stock, so your visits will always be different. Gifts and soft toys are part of the fashion business too! We also have a range of houseware including cushions, mugs, doorstops, clocks that make animal noises, money banks, stationery, musical carousels and adorable rainwear for kids.
